THE WOMEN’S SOCIETY OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE (WSCS)

he Women’s Society of Christian Service seeks to aid in establishing Christ’s Kingdom among all people and in all areas of life, especially within and through the agency of the Church, to share the abundant life of Christ with womanhood and childhood through evangelism, home cultivation, healing ministries, education and social service ; to enlist every woman in the Church in some form of Christian service ; to train Christian workers to assist in promotion of the Christian spirit everywhere ; and to seek with the women of all lands fellowship and mutual help in the building of Christian world order.

Purpose.

The purposes of the Women’s Society of Christian Service shall be :

1.To deepen the personal lives of women through Bible study and devotion.

2.To challenge members to tithe and be good stewards of their time and talents.

3.To increase effectiveness of the WSCS by means of spiritual retreats, seminars, workshops etc.

4.To increase the membership in the WSCS through the church personal contacts and in a variety of activities which will meet the needs of the women and draw them into the fellowship.

5.To plan and implement effective programmes for dedicated Christian Homes, Christian Social and Community concerns and service.

6.To evangelise by spreading the Gospel of Good News through preaching, prayer cells, sale and distribution of Bible portions, tracts, etc,

7.To involve more youth and young adults in the WSCS programme and challenge and encourage them to enter into full time Christian Service in the employment of the Church.

8.To assist the Church in its spiritual growth and development at every level through its programme, home missions and outreach.

9.To promote and support Christ-centered areas of work as may be decided from time to time (Projects),

10.To provide opportunity for leadership training,

11.To select a theme which will highlight and the emphasis of the WSCS for the quadrennium,

12.To continually evaluate the work and the effectiveness of the WSCS.
